WHAT IS MONTE
Monte is a fintech app concept developed from research on how economic instability affects users in Latin America. Over 70% of the people in Latin America feel anxious about currency devaluation and want safer, simpler ways to save in U.S. dollars. Monte addresses this need by helping users protect and grow their money through a digital stable-coin wallet.

The app lets users convert local currency into digital dollars, send remittances abroad, and access clear, reliable financial information, all from one intuitive interface shaped by user insights prioritizing trust, simplicity, and transparency.

APP

FIGMA PROTOTYPE
Our banking app helps people in developing countries make the most of their money by combining financial literacy with real-time tools like currency conversion, stablecoin savings, and transparent fee tracking.

It’s designed to be easy, accessible, and visually consistent, reflecting user feedback that values clarity and reliability above all. The prototype translates Monte’s mission into a clean, educational, and motivating experience that empowers users to take confident control of their finances.

TARGET AUDIENCE
Monte is designed for young professionals, freelancers, and business owners in Latin America who often deal with inflation, currency devaluation, and limited access to international financial systems. Many participants in our research shared that traditional banks feel untrustworthy or overly complicated, which reinforced the need for a digital solution that communicates stability and confidence.

The goal is to create a trusted, human-centered financial experience that feels both empowering and approachable, a tool that not only provides utility but also restores a sense of control and optimism in users’ financial lives.

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENTBased on audience research and media consumption trends in Latin America. We found primary users engage heavily with short-form and audiovisual content across YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok, with many relying on these platforms for news, financial advice, and daily entertainment.

Choosing video allowed the brand to combine emotional storytelling with clear product education, making the message accessible, memorable, and aligned with the realities of how our audience discovers and evaluates new services.

VIDEO ADVERTISEMENTSThe first video is a landscape-format piece intended for TV and YouTube placements. It focuses on establishing an emotional connection, emphasizing themes of financial stability, empowerment, and upward mobility. With slower pacing and atmospheric visuals, this video acts as an inviting introduction to Monte’s purpose helping viewers understand the brand before they learn about the product itself.

The second video translates into a vertical format for Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube Shorts. Here, the emphasis is functionality and clarity. Through quick pacing, feature highlights, and direct call-to-action moments, the video explains how the app works, what tools it offers, and why it matters for users navigating unstable currencies and unpredictable economies.

EMAIL MARKETING Based on audience research and communication habits in Soth America, we found that users rely heavily on quick, accessible information delivered through familiar channels especially for financial decisions. Many prefer concise updates, culturally relevant language, and content that feels practical rather than technical.

Choosing an email flow allowed the brand to provide consistent, trustworthy guidance through daily FX updates and simple explanations. This format meets users where they already are, offering clarity, stability, and ongoing support in a way that fits naturally into their everyday routines.

LOOKING AHEADThrough this project, I aimed to explore how design can bridge the gap between technology and financial literacy, using visual identity, UX principles, and branding consistency to build credibility.

This first stage presents the foundation of Monte’s brand, including its logo system, submarks, color palette, typography, and early UI mockups, as the starting point of the product’s identity and experience. By grounding the visuals in real audience insights and emphasizing trust and accessibility, this project demonstrates how thoughtful design can move beyond aesthetics to actively solve a problem and connect with users on an emotional level.
