CAR — Andres Cortes Design

Getaway Car is a motion graphics piece designed as a lyric video for Getaway Car by Taylor Swift. The goal was to visually translate the energy, rhythm, and storytelling of the track into a dynamic typographic experience.

Rather than simply displaying lyrics, the video reimagines them as visual elements that drive the narrative forward, creating an immersive audiovisual experience.

VISUAL APPROACH

The design draws inspiration from the bold, high-contrast style of Taylor Swift’s Reputation era, using dramatic type treatments, layered textures, and kinetic effects to echo the song’s intensity.

Typography becomes both expressive and cinematic, shifting rapidly across the screen in sync with the music. The overall aesthetic balances dark, moody tones with sharp motion to capture the atmosphere of escape and recklessness at the heart of the song.

This project is a non-commercial, student/portfolio work created solely for educational and artistic purposes. Getaway Car and all associated music, lyrics, and intellectual property belong to Taylor Swift and her record label, Republic Records (a division of UMG Recordings, Inc.).
